New tools are now available to help former Federal Indian Day School attendees claim their due compensation.
Indigenous people who attended most of the Federal run Day Schools are eligible for between 10 and 200 thousand dollars in compensation.
A list of eligible schools, or Schedule K schools, can be found at this link, as well as a link to supports to help in the claims filing process at this one.
If your school is on the Schedule K list, you are eligible for free legal support and counsel, online workshops to help with filing claims, and mental health supports.
The deadline to submit a claim is July 13th, 2022.
