Elections for the Witset First Nation’s Chief and Council were held yesterday.
With 92 votes, Barry Nikal came out on top in the race for Chief, while Andrew Tom finished second with 79 ballots.
Tom did take home one of twelve council spots, and will be joined by Elgin Cutler, Kayla Mitchell, Avril Jack, Warner William, Desmond McKinnon, Sherri Green, Sherry McKinnon, Russell Lewis Jr, Charmayne Nikal, Ian Michell, and Barry Nikal.
Cutler lead the new council in votes with 163.
