Indigenous residents of BC who have limited access to legal supports, will soon have a new resource.
The Virtual Indigenous Justice Centre launched this week as part of the province’s First Nations Justice Strategy.
A partnership with the First Nations Justice Council will allow them to provide legal representation for Indigenous clients in remote communities, who may not otherwise have support.
They will also assist clients with working with the court system, and helping them access social, housing, health, and transportation supports.
You can access the Virtual Platform by following this link.
Earlier this year, the Justice Council announced 3 physical centres in Prince Rupert, Merritt, and Prince George.
An additional 12 centres will join them in the coming years.
