New Provincial Orders lowering the age requirement to be masked indoors are now in effect.
Previously, a Provincial Health Order had made it mandatory to wear masks inside for those aged 12 or above.
Now, that age floor has been dropped to 9.
Exemptions can be made for those with medical reasons and individuals who are physically unable to remove a mask.
Temporary exemptions are also possible for communication, identification, and food consumption purposes.
The order applies to all indoor public spaces in BC.
