Dawson Creek City Council has taken efforts to right a mistake by removing a part of a video from their website.
During an impromptu Council meeting earlier this month, Council decided to give protesters to the province’s vaccine card system a platform to speak.
Mayor Dale Bumstead later said it was done not to give a platform to disinformation, but to give those he represents a chance to be heard.
Those who spoke compared the system to Nazi Germany, made false claims about the vaccine’s origin, and more.
Later, a video of the meeting from the City’s website began circulating in online groups spreading disinformation.
While portions of the video have already been clipped and re-uploaded, the City has decided to pull the portion featuring the speeches from their site.
