Unvaccinated residents working in the public service industry, or at care homes will soon be forced to stay home.
During a conference yesterday, Health Minister Adrian Dix announced that all employees working for the BC Public Service Agency will need to have both shots by November 22nd.
In addition, those working at long-term care and assisted living homes, will need to be fully vaccinated by October 12th.
Those who are not will be required to take a mandatory leave of absence, without pay.
Beginning on the same day, all visitors to long-term care homes must also provide proof of vaccination.
Dix says the province will be releasing guidelines for the very few people who are medically unable to get vaccinated.
