The Union of BC Indian Chiefs is set to head in to day two of their 53rd Annual General Assembly today.
As with last year’s event, the on-going pandemic has forced the Assembly to take an online approach.
A number of guest speakers will cover a variety of topics, including: addictions, childhood development, the opioid crisis, environmental impacts on salmon watersheds, wildfires, and more.
A number of Indigenous candidates from the recent election will also be present to share their thoughts and experiences.
Today, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh will give an address on the second of three days of meetings.
This year’s meeting theme is Truth, Justice, and Reconciliation.
