At the end of their regular meeting last night, Terrace Council approved the purchasing and flying of a flag in honour of Truth and Reconciliation.
With September 30th being established as National Truth and Reconciliation Day, the City has decided to honour the Day in their own way.
Many residents will be wearing orange shirts during the inaugural stat holiday, and the City of Terrace will be following suit, flying an orange flag.
In the initial resolution, Council was asked to fly the flag until the end of September, but opted to amend that to the end of October for this year, recognizing the later acquisition.
Council also made clear their support for flying the flag annually every September.
