British Columbia is reporting 820 new cases of Covid-19, as of Friday night.
This brings the province`s active total to 5,850.
There are 253 new cases in the Interior Health Region, and 101 new cases in the Northern Health Region.
Of the nine new deaths reported, three are in the Interior, and two were within Northern Health`s boundaries.
In addition, BC`s new vaccine card officially comes in to effect today.
Anyone who wished to access non-essential service within BC will need to show either a digital or physical copy of their card.
Either version will need to provide proof of at least one shot, though proof of two will be required on October 24th.
You can sign up for your card by visiting BC Health`s website, or an in-person location, and providing your health number, proof of vaccination, and date of vaccination.
Essential services such as grocery stores, restaurants, retail stores, banks, and many others, willnot require the card to enter.
Proof of vaccination is not required to vote on September 20th.
