Crews have officially gotten to work on a project that is meant to repair a section of Highway 20 located in Williams Lake that was damaged by ground movement from the Hodgson slide.
A spokesperson from the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure gave a statement saying that one part of the repairs will have the crews rebuilding the base of the road with one final asphalt paving, which is anticipated to happen sometime around Labour Day Weekend.
Back in June, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure gave a statement saying that these repairs would begin sometime later in the summer as long as movement from the slide would slow down as expected.
During the Williams Lake city council’s committee of the whole meeting back on Tuesday of this week, Councillor Scott Nelson made sure to give his public thanks to the ministry for this bit of construction work.
