As of today, B-C residents are now required to wear masks in all indoor public spaces including malls, grocery stores and on transit in order help curb the spread of COVID-19.
Provincial health officer Doctor Bonnie Henry says the mask mandate will also extend to students in Grade 4 and up at the start of the school year.
She says the mask order will be reassessed once B-C fully implements a card showing proof of immunization in order to access a wide range of indoor activities.
Just over 75 per cent of eligible B-C residents are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
