The Williams Lake City Council has made the decision to hold their Committee of the whole meetings in the city council chambers as well as live-stream these meetings to the public.
Before the pandemic, these meetings were held at City hall’s Rick Hansen Board room and they were also not live-streamed to the public.
This issue was discussed during yesterday’s city council meeting and the council members settled the issue by deciding that they would now live stream those particular meetings in order for them to be a bit more transparent with what they would be discussing.
The Committee of the whole meetings are where the council members make suggestions or recommendations, but ultimately, nothing is finalized during those meetings. The Finalization’s happen during the city council meetings.
City Council meetings have been live streamed for some time now and are available on the city’s YouTube page.
