The only evacuation alert in the Quesnel Fire Centre was lifted earlier today.
Residents living in the Titetown and Nazko North areas can now take a breath. The area was initially put under the alert because of the Purdy Lake Wildfire. The Cariboo Fire Centre has also noted that the 8,000-hectare fire has not gotten bigger within the past few days.
The evacuation areas in question were to the north and the east of Kluskoil Lake Provincial Park. The first alerts for the area were issued back on July 11, and the area was expanded a few days later on July 15.
However, the notice lifting the alert did note that the alert may need to be issued again if another fire flares up.
There are currently five other wildfires burning in the Quesnel Fire Zone.
