Nisga’a Nation creates new partnership with LNG companies

The Nisga’a Nation is working with two liquefied natural gas companies on a new L-N-G partnership in northern B-C.

Rockies L-N-G — a Calgary-based group of L-N-G companies — and Texas-based Western L-N-G have joined with the Nisga’a in filing notice of the partnership

They say the project — called Ksi Lisims L-N-G after the Nisga’a name for the Nass River — would produce 12-million tons annually and could be operating commercially by 2027 or 2028.

The Nisga’a say the development would be a low-cost source of L-N-G and would also provide economic support for the First Nation.
