Northern Health is declaring a Covid-19 outbreak at the LNG Canada Project Site in Kitimat.
The declaration comes after finding evidence of Covid-19 transmission among staff of Diversified Transportation working at the project site.
To date, 15 employees have tested positive for Covid-19 in association with this outbreak, 13 of these cases are considered active.
There are approximately 40 Diversified Transportation employees working at the project site and all have undergone proactive testing. Those identified as close contacts have been told to self-isolate.
This outbreak is unrelated to the one declared on November 19, which has not seen a new case since December 2.
