Shortly after 6 p.m. on December 14 RCMP were notified of a residential break and enter at a home in Miworth.
Sometime during the day, one or more suspects entered the home and pried open a gun safe. Five handguns and the matching magazines were taken from inside the safe.
Investigators believe that the suspects targeted the residence and the safe in order to steal the firearms. One of the firearms was located on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 by a member of the public, hidden in some garbage in an alleyway. This may have been an attempt to hide the firearm for future use.
