The original declaration of emergency was made on November 26, now on Friday, December 11 that state of emergency was lifted. Cases in the Nisga’a Valley Health Authority have been declining.
Despite the lifting of the state of local emergency residents in the Nass Valley are still expected to follow all provincial health orders in respect to Covid-19 restrictions.
Various forms of check points and community surveillance operations will continue in each of the four Nisga’a Villages throughout the holiday season. Visitors coming from outside of the northern health region are required to self-isolate for the 14-day period.
