The 2020 Harvest Cup is finally going ahead after being postponed in Jan. 2020 due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
A Gitxsan/Wet’suwet’en man has been picked up as a free agent to play in the Cup this year. Lawrence Shanoss, 67 will be playing for the Still Kickin’: AZ team. He will be playing for the team in the 65 and over age division.
Shanoss is a long time player and coach having played for 55 years in various leagues and for various teams. Shanoss will be the only First Nations player from Canada competing in the tournament.
The tournament is taking place in Casa Grand, Arizona from Oct. 24 to Oct. 26. The jersey will have the number 17 on it as seen in the attached photo.
