We here at CFNR News would like to file an official retraction on the story “The Ongoing Trial of Glen Good.” We would also like to extend our sincerest apologies to any parties affected by the story or information spreading regarding the story, particularly the Gitanyow Hereditary Chiefs.
After new information along with new interviews came to the forefront I would like to offer the facts and details regarding the ongoing court case.
Glen Good’s trial infront of the Hazelton Provincial Court began on Oct. 6. Charged with “Hunting Out of Season.” The Gitanyow Hereditary Chiefs are currently in the process of establishing their own title rights and mapping out the land for each Wilp. Head Chief of the Raven Clan Will Marsden said in an interview with CFNR that Good has his own land to hunt as he is from the Fireweed Wilp. It is part of Gitanyow laws to hunt on your own Wilps land. Without a permit or permission hunting on other land is not allowed.
Good has been charged by the crown council under the wildlife act. The trial is currently ongoing and further facts of the case are expected after the verdict is read.
