The City of Quesnel is taking a proactive approach in light of the recently announced schedule for Central Mountain Air (CMA) flights.
CMA has recently notified the City of Quesnel that flights are not expected to resume at the airport until February of 2021.
Mayor Bob Simpson said in a statement, “The situation in Quesnel is not unique, the impact that Covid-19 has had on regional airports across the country is substantial.”
He goes on to say that they remain optimistic about the future of the airport. Staff at the airport were directed by Council to reduce operating costs wherever possible. Most recently staff have been directed to work with the Economic development Department to attract more air traffic and business opportunities to the airport.
