Northern Health has announced that the contract for Phase 2 construction on the GR Baker Memorial Hospital has been awarded to True Construction Ltd.
The work will be taking place on the Emergency Department and on the Intensive Care Unit. The newly-redeveloped, approximately 16,684 square foot Emergency and ICU space at the hospital will co-locate the departments.
This will ultimately improve patient flow, access to imaging and labs, security, privacy and confidentiality. The project is valued at $27 million and is being cost-shared between the provincial government through Northern Health and Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Hospital District.
