B.C. Hydro has made a statement following release of its quarterly progress report.
The report identified that pandemic related delays have imposed additional cost pressures on the Site C Dam project. The project still remains on schedule to achieve water diversion in 2020. However, there is uncertainty with the projects current schedule due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
B.C. Hydro has now begun the process to re-baseline the Site C project to determine the true impacts of the pandemic. The province appointed a special advisor to deliver a plan to ensure that the project is completed in the most effecient manner.
