A new report by B.C. Hydro has revealed some of the impacts of the pandemic on power usage.
The report titled, “Powering the new normal: How Covid-19 has changed British Columbians’ daily habits and electricity use” finds that while residential power usage remains average, peoples daily routines have changed so every day feels like Saturday.
Including now there are nearly 40 per cent of people working from home 5 days a week. While electricity use is at normal levels for this time of the year, peak times are now later in the morning and earlier in the evening. The reported included a survey that found with no commuting for many, nearly 40 per cent of British Columbians’ are waking up later.
