A hotel tax has been implemented approved in Terrace.
Kermodei Tourism sent an application to implement a two per cent tax on the purchase of accommodation within terrace and the Electoral Area E.
“Kermodei Tourism is very pleased to announce that our MRDT application has been successful. Although the announcement comes at a time when tourism visitation has been severely disrupted, our organization wants to do everything it can to be in the best possible position when the time comes to begin welcoming visitors again,” says Brian Niska Kermodei Tourism Chair.
“Council will continue to support Kermodei Tourism and is pleased that the organization will now have the resources to more fully realize the potential of our local tourism industry,” says Carol Leclerc, Mayor of Terrace.
The renewal and increase will take effect on Sept. 1 of this year.
