The City of Quesnel has called a state of local emergency due to the risk of local flooding along the Baker Creek.
The state of local emergency allows the City to respond to the threat of flooding which could potentially result in the damage or loss of infrastructure, property, or the environment. There are no evacuation alerts or orders at this time.
The City is working closely with Emergency Management BC to monitor the situation and will provide updates when available. Residents are being asked to stay away from the areas of the Baker Creek and obey all warning and hazard signs.
