LNG Canada taking further measures to protect employees

In an open letter from CEO of LNG Canada Peter Zebedee, he says that LNG Canada, JGC Fluor and their subcontractors are doing everything they can to prevent the Covid-19 virus from impacting people and the communities they work in.

LNG Canada has reduced their workforce on the project site by 65 percent, while continuing to evaluate potential further reductions. The number of people commuting has been reduced by more than 90 percent. Essential work has been identified, such as work that meets environmental regulations protecting birds, fish and water.

Any work that is not deemed essential has stopped. LNG Canada, JFJV and lodging providers will activate 14-day quarantine procedures should someone develop symptoms or illness, per direction from Northern Health.
