BC has declared a public health emergency as the number of COVID-19 cases has jumped by 83.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says that brings the total number in B.C. to 186, with four of those cases in Northern Health.
There have also been three additional deaths from the virus, brining the total number of deaths to seven.
Dr. Henry says the province has shifted its testing strategy to community clusters that may not be related to travel.
The BC Centre for Disease Control has also launched a new self-assessment tool for those that may be infected.
