The Prince George RCMP is taking action to limit public contact with staff due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The city detachment will be closing public front counter access until April 15, but says that date will be re-evaluated as needed.
Non-essential services like fingerprinting and police information checks will also be suspended for the time being.
The detachment says phones in the vestibules will be available should the need arise.
It say officers will continue to respond to calls for service as usual, including 9-1-1 calls.
RCMP are asking people to use the Online Crime Reporting tool for less serious property related crime that occurred in Prince George or surrounding area.
