Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has made a series of announcements in an address today.
Most non-Canadians will be denied access to the country, at this time U.S. Citizens will still be allowed. There will be some exceptions being family members of Canadians, air crews and diplomats. Those Canadians that are stuck outside of the country can receive financial assistance to either get home or to cover their basic needs if they’re stranded.
Only 4 airports in Canada will be accepting International travel, those airports being, Montreal, Calgary, Toronto and Vancouver. Anyone that has symptoms of Covid-19 will not be allowed to board a plane. If they are a Canadian citizen the federal government will be working with those people to help get them home.
For businesses impacted by this virus $10 billion dollars has been made available. To date there have been 25,000 tests administered, daily updates will be provided at noon each day starting today. Trudeau recommends that as much as possible people stay home.
