The Council of Haida Nation, Old Masset Village Council and Skidegate Band Council have made a recommendation that island citizens avoid unnecessary travel off of the island.
This decision was made with advice from First Nations Health Authority. With limited emergency resources available any exposure could have a significant impact on Haida Gwaii.
If you are returning to Haida Gwaii from travel make sure to wash your hands thoroughly and often. When coughing or sneezing make sure you cover your mouth and nose with your arm. If you believe you have Covid-19 ensure you isolate yourself and phone the province’s public health authority at 8-1-1.
