The Town of Smithers has closed most municipal office facilities over concerns about COVID-19.
A news release issued Thursday afternoon says the Town is enacting the measures for what it says is in the best interest of the community, town employees, and the general public’s health and safety.
Residents can contact the Smithers Fire Rescue, Regional Airport Administration Office, and Smithers Works and Operations by phone.
In a later release, the Town says its municipal office will remain open for the time being
The Town says it will closely monitor the status of the virus.
