Special air quality advisories have been issued for Bulkley Valley and the Lakes District and the Cariboo including Quesnel.
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy in collaboration with Northern Health has issued these dust advisories due to high concentrations of coarse and fine particulate matter. It’s expected to persist until there is precipitation or dust suppression.
Individuals may experience symptoms such as increased coughing, throat irritation, headaches or shortness of breath. Children, seniors and those with cardiovascular or lung disease are especially at risk. You can find real time air quality updates on the government of B.C.’s website.
