The Mills Memorial Hospital has received a new piece of equipment.
A new Ophthalmic Surgical Microscope is now operational at the hospital. Dr. Thomas Nagy along with his surgical team Dr. Matthew Brucks and Dr. Bee Adante explained how the new microscope will help the hospital.
“With this Ophthalmic Microscope we now have the highest level of services in all of B.C. which is pretty amazing for a small
community! With such high definition detail and accuracy, surgery is safer than ever and recovery is quicker for the patient. Working together, we have increased our surgeries by 20% from 2 to 3 years ago.”
The images taken of the eye can also be saved and sent directly back to the office for future use.
