The Town of Smithers has announced that they will be adding an additional RCMP officer. The new officer will be added to the current Smithers detachment during the latter part of 2020.
The focus of the new role will be to advance crime reduction initiatives, including an emphasis on addressing emerging crime trends.
In the near future Staff Sergeant Terry Gillespie will begin the process of identifying a candidate to fill this position.
