A special air quality advisory has been issued for the Bulkley Valley area.
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy in collaboration with Northern Health and the Town of Smithers has issued an Air Quality Advisory for Smithers because of high concentrations of fine particulate matter.
People with chronic underlying medical conditions are advised to postpone strenuous exercise until the advisory is lifted. For the duration of the advisory woodstoves are prohibited unless it is your only source of heat. You can find real-time air quality updates at the government of B.C. website.
