The Coast Mountains School District has closed facilities in Terrace and Kitimat due to extreme winter weather.
The district says schools were shut down due to “unsafe conditions of the highways, side roads, and sidewalks” after a major dump of snow.
Bear Valley School and the Hazelton and Kitwanga Schools will be open and buses are running.
Centennial Christian School will be closed today as well.
With about 40 cm of snow in the last 24 hours, Coast Mountain College has also closed its Terrace and Hazelton campuses.
The college is advising both students and staff to stay home and check the CMTN Facebook page for updates.
