Smoke may be visible west of Quesnel over the next few weeks.
The B.C forests ministry will be burning wody debris left over from the 2017 Plateau wildfire near Nazko to reduce the risk of future fires.
Burning is expected to start in mid to late January and will be completed by the end of February.
The piles are located in and around the community of Nazko.
The ministry says burning will occur only on days when site and weather conditions are favourable and will allow smoke to dissipate.
