Quesnel RCMP arrested a man after an 11-hour standoff south of the city earlier this week.
Police were called out shortly after eight Tuesday morning after a 37-year-old barricaded himself inside a home on Ettinger Road.
RCMP discovered the man had outstanding warrants and obtained a search warrant to enter and arrest the person.
The man refused to cooperate with police, and after eleven hours of talks, RCMP entered the home and arrested the person under the Mental Health Act without incident.
“At no time was the public in danger during this incident. The officers tried to keep an open line of communication with the man to bring a peaceful ending to this incident” said Sgt. Richard Weseen of the Quesnel RCMP in a news release.
The Quesnel RCMP are thanking area residents for their cooperation and patience during the event.
