The winter storm warning is over for Kitimat, but remains for Terrace and Stewart.
Environment Canada says a low pressure centre north of Haida Gwaii brought about 20 cm of snow overnight to Terrace and Kitimat.
Forecasters say as the warm air moved onto the coast, snow changed to freezing rain and will eventually turn to rain showers.
In Stewart, the snow is expected to taper to flurries by Monday afternoon with an additional 5 to 10 cm.
Snowfall warnings remain in place for Dease Lake and the Pine Pass.
The transportation ministry reports winter driving conditions, including slippery, snow-covered, and slushy sections along northwest B.C. highways.
