Vanderhoof RCMP are asking for help as they investigate an attack on a 17-year-old girl at a popular walking trail earlier this week.
Police say the teen was walking on the WL McLeod Wetland Monday between 1 and 2 p.m. when she was pushed from behind by an unknown male.
She reported the incident to school officials and police were contacted. Despite officers flooding the area and speaking with a number of people, RCMP officers could not locate the suspect.
The attacker is described as a male with short brown hair, wearing dark jeans and a black and red jacket.
Stranger assaults are very unusual in our community and we are treating this as a priority investigation,” says Sgt. Rod Guthrie, Vanderhoof RCMP Detachment Commander. “We are asking anyone who may have been in the area of the WL McLeod Wetland on Monday after noon and before 4 p.m. and saw anyone matching the description of the suspect to please call us
