Daily openings along Highway 51 will continue, but it’s not known when the only road link to Telegraph Creek will fully re-open to traffic.
The route, which was blocked by a rockslide last Tuesday, November 5, has seen only limited openings since crews were able to move rocks and debris.
Tuesday’s opening is from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. for all-wheel-drive vehicles only.
Transportation ministry staff says the road can’t be fully reopening because the slope remains unstable and the scheduled openings could change on short notice.
Crews continue to work during daylight hours, and geotechnical engineers continue to monitor the site.
The ministry says it’s examining short and long-term options to ensure Telegraph Creek Road is a safe and reliable for residents.
Officials say they are coordinating road openings with the Tahltan, EMBC, emergency services, and other agencies.
