Construction is set to begin this week to build a new two lane bridge along highway 97.
The new bridge which will be approximately 40 kilometres west of Chetwynd is designed to modern standards. The structure is one of 10 bridge improvement projects underway or completed in the Chetwynd area under the 2016 Peace Flood Recovery Program.
While construction is underway drivers will cross Fur Thief Creek via a two-lane detour. The $6 million project is expected to be completed in fall 2020.
