Fort St. John Mounties are investigating two suspicious livestock deaths.
The death of a bull was reported to police September 22 after it was found missing its genitals.
A dead horse, also missing its genitals, was reported to police October 1.
RCMP have been unable to determine the cause of death in either case, but investigators say there is no indication that the animals were killed by predators.
Mounties say it’s unclear whether the two events are related, but they are considered suspicous and the RCMP Livestock Section is being consulted.
Reports of this nature are not common place and are taken very seriously by the RCMP
, said Constable Chad Neustaeter in a news release. Losing an animal in this way can be very traumatizing to the owners and our local farming community.
