Four First Nations are moving ahead with clean-energy projects that will reduce greenhouse gases and lead to substantial cost savings for their communities.
The province granted more than $930,000 from the FNCEBF to four clean energy projects in 2019.
Giving some of the money to 10 communities that will study the need and feasibility of future clean-energy projects in their community.
This funding also supports CleanBC, which is the Province’s plan to give people new opportunities to build a cleaner future.
Some of the projects in motion include, upgrading heating systems in homes and community buildings, developing hybrid smart-grids, battery systems, building power and solar power microgrids to reduce its reliance on diesel generators.
