Residents near 100 Mile House may see some smoke and flames over the next few month and a half.
The BC Wildfire Service says crews are planning to burn piles of woody debris in two areas southeast of the community over the next six weeks.
The controlled burns are part of a series of fuel management projects in the Cariboo Fire Centre to cut the wildfire risk.
The burns will take place on the southwest side of Bridge Lake and the south side of Green Lake from now until the end of October when conditions are suitable for smoke to dissipate quickly.
