Smithers is set to welcome a new Chief Administrative Officer to town this August.
Through a press release issued this morning, the Town announced that Alan Harris would be taking over the position next month.
Harris is a chartered professional accountant who has spent the last 7 years serving as General Manager of Corporate Services for Beaumont, Alberta.
Prior to that, he spent 15 years working in municipal politics in BC, after grabbing his education at the University of Victoria.
Harris is slated to arrive mid-August and will take over the CAO duties as soon as he lands.
