A new highway being created in Terrace as the result of a new residential subdivision will hold a fitting name.
Located on the north side of McConnell Avenue, the new road will dawn the title Wirtl Street, named after the man behind its creation.
Emil Wirtl move to Terrace with his wife Hilda in 1957, and the pair founded Emil Wirtl Construction 6 years later.
Since then, the Wirtl’s have been instrumental in bringing a number of residential subdivisions to Terrace.
Most recently, they orchestrated the construction of a 30 lot subdivision in the McConnell area in 2014.
This new subdivision will bring an additional 34 residential units to the area.
