Significant and persistent rainfall over the past 4 days has prompted a flood warning for the area arounf the Chilcotin River.
According to the River Forecast Centre, who issued the warning yesterday, the rapid flow of the river could cause riverbanks to become unstable.
Of particular concern is the area immediately below Big Creek and its tributaries, where the waterflow has been strong enough to uproot grown trees.
More than 90 millimetres of rain has fallen in the area near the Williams Lake area river over the past half week.
