According to federal resources Minister Amarjeet Sohi, Canada is in no rush to sell off the Trans Mountain pipeline.
Though he did reaffirm that his government is considering a number of Indigenous ownership opportunities.
Last week, an Indigenous-led group called Project Reconciliation came out saying they were prepared to offer 6.9 billion dollars for a majority stake in the pipeline.
They say they could be ready to make the bid by next week, and could begin negotiations with Ottawa two weeks after that.
But Sohi says the feds aren’t just going to jump at the first opportunity that comes along, and that he has a number of meetings planned with interested Indigenous groups this month.
