British Columbia’s provincial government are leading by example when it comes to their CleanBC climate change plan.
Through a freshly announced five-year plan, the province aims to make government offices up to 80% more energy efficient by 2050.
Buildings effected by the new CleanBC Government Buildings Program include: courthouses, correctional centres, warehouses, ministry offices, and more.
In total, BC is investing 58 million dollars in the plan which will begin the transition from fossil fuels to cleaner energy, see electric vehicle charging stations installed, undertake energy retrofits, and make buildings more resilient to climate change.
CleanBC, announced earlier this year, is the province’s plan to significantly reduce BC’s carbon footprint by 2040.
